Participants were nominated by their County Office of Education, and agreed to continue teaching at a K-12 California public school that is ranked in the lowest 20 percentile on the API.

To be eligible for the WRP, candidates must be current, full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a disability, or have graduated within one year of the release of the database each December. For the 2014 WRP release, interviews will be held in the fall of 2013. A candidate who graduated in October, 2012 or later would still be eligible to participate. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. The Internship Apprentice Program is a three year planned career development program at NAWCWD China Lake that provides full-time employment, on-the-job training, and merit-based promotions.
